This study explored the role of assistive and adaptive technology in the education of children with special needs in Rivers State. It examined the concepts of assistive and adaptive technology, the needs of children with special needs, various types of these technologies, their potential benefits, and the challenges associated with their implementation. The study recommended, among other things, that assistive and adaptive technology should be integrated into the curriculum for prospective teachers, ensuring that they acquire this knowledge as part of their training.
